Volunteering program for EUC 3×3 Basketball 2025 in Salerno

From August 1 to 5, 2025, the city of Salerno will host the European Universities 3×3 Basketball Championship, a key event in the European university sports calendar. The organisation of this event has been entrusted to the same committee responsible for the upcoming European Universities Games 2026 (EUG 2026), making it a valuable test event and a concrete step forward in the overall preparation process.

Strategic role of the event

This championship represents more than a stand-alone competition; it is conceived as a full-scale operational simulation. The organisational structure, logistics, and communication flows that will be tested during the EUC 2025 are aligned with the standards set for EUG 2026. In this context, the volunteering programme acquires a central role, offering selected participants an opportunity to contribute to the success of an international event while acquiring practical experience.

Volunteer objectives and opportunities

The volunteer programme is open to students, young professionals, and sports enthusiasts aged 18 and above who are eager to engage in international event management.

Key roles include:

• Assistance with logistics and support to the organising committee

• Coordination of info points and interfaces with athletes and delegations

• Support in communication and media operations

• Supervision and support during games and training sessions

The volunteering experience is structured to offer real-world exposure to the organisational dynamics of major events, fostering the development of soft skills, intercultural competencies, and team collaboration.

Benefits and recognition

Volunteers selected for the EUC 2025 will receive:

• Official volunteer uniform and event materials

• Daily lunch during the event

• Certificate of participation outlining tasks and hours completed

• Recognition of experience useful for academic or professional development

Travel expenses to and from Salerno remain the responsibility of the participants.
