EUSA visit to Salerno

On November 18-19, 2021 EUSA Representatives Mr Adam Roczek, President, Mr Haris Pavletic, 1st Vice-President, Mr Francis Cirianni, Treasurer and Mr Matjaz Pecovnik, Secretary General visited Salerno (Italy), the Candidate City for the organisation of the 2026 EUSA European Universities Games.

The EUSA delegation met with the representatives of the Bidding Committee, Prof Vincenzo Loia, the Rector of the University of Salerno, Mr Lorenzo Lentini, President of the CUS Salerno, Mr Felice Lentini, Regional Delegate of CUS Campania and Mr Michele Di Ruocco, Director General of the CUS Salerno.

EUSA representatives had an opportunity to learn on the history, structure and activities of the University of Salerno and CUS Salerno and to visit the planned accommodation, catering and sports facilities for the organisation of the European Universities Games 2026.

The experienced team of CUS Salerno, who was also included in the organisation of the 2019 Summer Universiade in Napoli, organized by CUSI, presented their plans connected to the organization of EUSA Games 2026. During the meeting, the participants agreed on the next steps, which include the preparation of the Bidding Dossier and additional working meeting at the EUSA Headquarters in Ljubljana.
